"In Your Toes"
For many years stories have been around the world. From the moment we are
born we are told stories from our love ones. As a kid we find stories to be a source of
learning and imagination. Many of us grew up with the habit of our parents putting us into
bed by reading a story to us. As we grow older we learn that stories are compose of
many things like poetry, music, and films. As for me, one element that I like about stories
is descriptive writing
Getting the reader's mind into understanding what is going on in the story cannot
always be accomplished. For example, by using vivid words it can cause the reader to
feel fear like the character in the story. Stephen King is an example writer that puts
feeling into his writing. In "The Boogeyman", King, set a standard of fearing the closet.
He begins by describing the scene and leads into the massacre. The main idea of
descriptive writing is to make the reader feel part of the story. King has a way of turning
his stories around without losing the reader by leading into the point. The use of
descriptive words is what makes the story more interesting for the reader.
At last, making the words clear helps the reader get a better picture of what is
happening in the story. I hate when there is a lot of confusion and I have to go back into
reading the story again in order for me to understand. Keeping the reader in their toes
and wanting more is what makes a good writer, and the best way of doing it is by being
descriptive.

Leslie,
Lovely use of description. As your reading I can imagine what you are saying. The title is creative and creative. This essay has a ‘warm and fuzzy’ feeling to it. What I mean is that it is nostalgic and is easy to agree with. With that it is showing to be a convincing peace.
Leslie, I liked most of all your title. It made me whant to read it and see what you were actually talking about. I do agree that when our parents placed us to sleep, they always tried to avoid telling us scary stories. Due, to the fact that when we woke up during mid night time, we wanted to sleep in between both of them, just to feel safe. Also, if stories wern't very interesting, then we wouldn't feel motivated to read them. I thik your essay was really well constucted and easy to comprehend.
